Garden City Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet
The Garden City Area Chamber of Commerce will host this year's Annual Banquet January 28th at 7 p.m. at the Clarion Inn and Conference Center, 1911 E. Kansas Ave. The notorious Award of Merit Award will be given to one very deserving individual who has not only given their heart to the Chamber but also to many community organizations. The outgoing and incoming Board of Directors and the Ambassador of the Year will also be recognized. The Annual Banquet Committee has announced the theme for this year. In honor of former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Richard B. Myers visit to Garden City, the Annual Banquet's theme will be "Braving the Future" Please help us welcome the General by showing your patriotism and decorating your corporate table with red, white, and blue! The Ambassadors are selling corporate tables so be sure to call and reserve a table today! The cost of a corporate table ranges from $300-$750. Meet the 2010 Chairman of the Board
I am honored to serve as the 2010 Board Chair of the Garden City Area Chamber of Commerce. The legacy of leadership that brings us to this point is impressive and I will uphold the fine tradition of integrity, leadership and vision that my predecessors have established. From the Ambassadors to Leadership Garden City, our Chamber's program of work supports the many aspects of business development essential in today's highly competitive business environment.
Our plan this year will be to support our members by assisting in workforce training and development, offering important networking opportunities, promoting our legislative agenda at the local, state, and federal level, working regionally and to promote Convention and Tourism. I am confident that our membership can readily see the value of these endeavors and invite them all to get actively involved in their Garden City Area Chamber of Commerce.

Western Kansas Planning Washington D.C. Trip
The Garden City Area Chamber will represent the area business community in meetings with U.S. Senators Brownback and Roberts and Congressman Moran's staff. The Garden City Area Chamber, this year, will be the host planner for the annual western Kansas trek to Washington D.C. in the spring. Each year, 30 to 40 representatives from five communities in western Kansas converge upon the nation's Capitol taking issues directly to our elected congressional delegation.
SWK Chambers Sponsor SW Kansas Night Out In Topeka w/ State Legislators
The Southwest Kansas Chambers of Commerce are sponsoring their 1st annual "Southwest Kansas Night Out in Topeka" as the group hosts Kansas State Senators and State Representatives in the capitol city during the legislative session. The event on February 1, 2010, with presenting sponsor Black Hills Energy will be held at The Capitol Plaza Hotel in Topeka and will honor the state's legislators as it introduces them to many Southwest Kansas business people and community leaders. The event will be held the night before the Kansas Chamber's annual banquet.
